Associate Professor or Professor and Westside Program Director Faculty Position Announcement
Portland State University invites applications for a position as Associate Professor or Professor and Westside Program Director in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department, commencing winter 2012. An bachelor of science from an ABET accredited program (or equivalent) in electrical or computer engineering and an earned doctorate are required. Applicants are also expected to have a proven research record as demonstrated by archival publications.
The successful applicant will be expected to lead the development of an upper division BS program in electrical engineering and a course-work only MS program in electrical and computer engineering at an accessible location in Washington County, approximately 20 minutes to the west of our main campus. Responsibilities include program promotion, outreach to prospective students, and formation of partnerships with regional community colleges and high-technology companies.
PSU is located in downtown Portland, in the heart of the Silicon Forest. The Portland metropolitan region and Washington County host a wide range of over 800 high-technology companies such as Intel, Tektronix, LTX-Credence, Nike, FEI, TriQuint, and Maxim.
